Last Minute Low Budget Productions (LMLB) began in 1989 as a group of locals who got together to stage a production of The Ballad of the Sad Cafe.  The group lay dormant until 2001 when a fresh group of energetic locals produced a series of short pieces followed by a full production.  The excitement created by these productions gave rise to the need for a more formalized community theater group.  In early 2002, ten individuals met to lay the groundwork for an active community theater group with officers and bylaws.  The IRS granted non-profit status in early 2003.  Since 2001, LMLB has produced twenty-one full-length productions, twelve short play collections, two plays for local students, a reader’s theater, and a radio show.
